Ty’s going to med school!

Beyond my undergraduate coursework, research has been the most educational and rewarding experience I have participated in. The Blackburn Laboratory fostered the supportive environment I needed to reach my goals, and allowed me to take my education to the next level. I have been able to work with two different animal models, learn multiple molecular biology techniques, and even be part of published research. The brains behind all of this is Jessi, who is an excellent mentor and always willing to help students achieve their goals. She has seen me both struggle and excel, and continuously helped guide me to my current position. I am now excited to begin medical school at the University of Kentucky this Fall, and know I could not have achieved this without the support of the Blackburn Lab!
