Maddie’s summer recap!
This summer, I had the opportunity to work in the Blackburn Lab through the Kentucky INBRE Summer Research Program. I investigated Deferoxamine as a drug therapy to prevent relapse in patients with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It was an invaluable learning experience to run RT-PCRs, cell cycle analyses in the FACS Core, and experiments in cell culture under the guidance of Majd Al-Hamaly and Dr. Blackburn. I look forward to presenting my research at the Kentucky Academy of Science (KAS) Annual Meeting in November. Words cannot express my gratitude for the incredible group at the Blackburn Lab and for their warm welcome and guidance in the lab this past summer!
